Boundless Therapy

Individual Therapy

There is a stigma in receiving therapy services in communities of color. We get it and want to work to make therapy as normal as going to the doctor or dentist. Therapy isn’t just talking about your life and someone listening. There are tons of benefits to receiving therapy services including:

  • Personal development and increased self-awareness

  • Learn methods for  healthy and effective communication

  • A safe space to express emotions

  • Alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and other mental wellness related symptoms

  • Provide coping mechanisms to manage future challenges

Couples and Family Therapy

Couples and family counseling should not just be reactionary but also preventative to help set your relationships up for success. Couples and family counseling can be beneficial for a multitude of reasons including:

  • Resolve communication conflicts

  • Prepare for marriage and other relationship transitions

  • Increase healthy communication between partners and loved ones

  • Restore and increase intimacy

  • Rebuild lost and broken trust

......people of color heal together

People across the diaspora and other cultural groups have historically healed in collective and group experiences.

In order for a group to start,  adequate interest and participation is required. Group start dates (unless already established) will be emailed once at least three participants are signed up. You will be contacted via email and/or text message with the date the group will begin.

All groups run for 6 weeks and have a week break unless otherwise discussed with group facilitators.

Types of Groups

Groups are usually in two main categories (although there are many other types), process oriented groups or support groups:

GROUPS MAY BE HELD VIRTUALLY OR IN PERSON

Support Groups-usually more led by clients and supported by the group facilitator and offer more opportunities to share personal experiences, support one another, and are less structured and open forum.

Process Groups-tend to have a specific focus

i.e. anxiety, trauma, depression, etc. and are more structured with a curriculum and focus to alleviate symptoms and support individual therapy work. You are actually processing the sources of your discomfort. The groups operate in a closed format or “cohort” meaning you start with whom you finish with.
