“We do not heal in isolation, but in community”

— S. Kelly Harrell
Hello! My name is Khadijah, I’m a mental health counselor. I’m a true believer in helping people go on a journey to healing and becoming their best version they desire to be for themselves. Learning who they are authentically past their pain, the hurt obtained from life, and negative experiences from life. We don’t have to be our stigmas, what people have told us we are, nor our experiences; you get to choose who you want to be.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Northwestern University in 2022. I completed my internship through Northwestern University. I have had the privilege to work within the mental health industry for over fifteen years that included working in mental health treatment centers and dual diagnosis treatment centers.
I have experience in working with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, and relationship challenges. My therapeutic approach are person centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
I believe in collaborating with each person in a safe space to develop skills while unpacking present and past experiences to unlock healing to becoming each person’s authentic self. You get to choose the pace along your journey while being heard along the way.
